February is for Wine Lovers

Written by Idaho Wine Commission | Feb 9, 2023

February isn’t just for Valentines anymore. This wonderful month has not one but two national wine holidays—National Drink Wine Day on February 18 and Open that Bottle Night on February 25. Idaho wineries and cideries have great events planned to help you fall in love with wine and cider all over again as part of our Idaho Winter Wine Weekends.

Participating locations will welcome you with special food and wine pairings, tasting flights, promotions, and fun activities—all in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Make plans now to visit one of Idaho’s award-winning wineries and cideries this winter to enjoy outstanding local wine and cider.

To get the details, visit a participating location’s “Events” page or social media channels. No reservations required!

National Drink Wine Weekend, Feb. 18-19

Why limit to one day what you can celebrate for an entire weekend? Participating Idaho wineries and cideries have great events planned in honor of this holiday, including live music, special vintage tastings from their libraries, and sales promotions so you can enjoy great wine and treat your Valentine, too. And while you’re there celebrating, pick up a special bottle to open the following weekend on National “Open that Bottle Night”—designed to make any occasion special, even when it’s not a special occasion.

Family Fun Weekend, March 4-5

And right on the heels of February, join us in March for Family Fun Weekend. Many wine lovers have little ones in tow, so Idaho’s wineries and cideries have created a weekend just for you. As winter winds down, bring the whole family to a participating Idaho winery or cidery for a fun afternoon. Kid-friendly beverages will be available and kid-friendly activities such as board games, crafts, and, weather permitting, outside activities. No need to get a sitter—enjoy a day of family togetherness with wine tasting for adults and fun for everyone under 21, too.

There’s never been a better season to visit Idaho wineries and cideries and discover our state’s award-winning wine community. Learn why Idaho is getting national attention for its outstanding, classic varietals, exciting wine scene, and relaxed atmosphere. No matter the weather, Idaho Winter Wine Weekends are the perfect winter adventure! For a list of participating locations, visit idahowines.org/winter-wine-weekends.
